Glasgow is currently working towards reducing its carbon emissions by 30% by 2020. As part of this commitment, Glasgow City Council aims to engage stakeholders and citizens to better understand the actions which can be taken city-wide to reduce energy use and improve Glasgow’s environment. This survey provided citizens with an opportunity to have their say on energy, transport, green events and carbon reduction measures in Glasgow. A previous recent survey consulted businesses and organisations in Glasgow about energy and emissions; however this survey sought to specifically engage Glasgow’s citizens about their individual energy use and environmental concerns.
The results of this survey, along with the previous business and organisations survey will help inform the development of Glasgow’s new Energy and Carbon Master Plan, influence planning and events for Glasgow’s Green Year in 2015, and support continued action on improving the environment and sustainability by Glasgow City Council.
