STEP UP Webinar - ESCo Opportunities - Thursday 21 August 2014

The Glasgow STEP UP team is hosting an interactive webinar on Energy Services Company (ESCo) opportunities. The event will take place on Thursday 21st August at 11am and is supported by Glasgow City Council, the University of Strathclyde and the Scottish Cities Alliance.

The webinar will feature two guest speakers:

    ·         Ian Booth – Aberdeen Heat and Power Company

Aberdeen Heat and Power was set up by Aberdeen City Council in 2002 to develop and operate district heating (DH) and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) schemes that deliver clean and affordable energy. Ian will draw on Aberdeen’s experience to discuss how an ESCo can be delivered and the benefits ESCos can offer cities.

    ·         Lars Holmquist – Göteborg Energi

Göteborg Energi aims to provide sustainable energy services to citizens throughout western Sweden, from district heating to fibre optic cabling. Their DH network of over 1000km provides affordable, effective heating to over 90% of Gothenburg's apartment blocks. Lars will discuss the challenges and opportunities experienced in Gothenburg and the impact that the ESCo has had in delivering on carbon reduction targets within the city.
